We all have our share of stories about difficult customers and activists wanting to change the world.
Here are some of the hilarious struggles that retail business owners often face on a daily basis:
The "Open" Sign Conundrum
You know what's worse than having customers walk into your store when you're closed? Having them not walk in when you're open. It's like they don't even see the giant "Open" sign in the window. Maybe you need to upgrade to a neon sign that flashes "WE'RE OPEN, COME IN BEFORE ITS TOO LATE!"
The "Can I Speak to the Manager?" Request
Ah, the dreaded request to speak to the manager. It's like customers think that talking to the person in charge will magically give them their self-esteem back. Sorry, Karen, I can't just give you a free latte because you complained about the foam.
The "I Can Get It Cheaper Elsewhere" Argument
Yes, we know you can get it cheaper elsewhere. But you are here and have to abide by our rules.
So stop trying to haggle over the price or size of that sandwich and just buy it already.
The "I Just Need to Browse" Excuse
Listen, we know you're not actually going to buy anything. You just want to come in, touch everything, and then leave without spending a dime. It's like going to a buffet and just looking at the food. At least take a brochure or something.
Dealing with Activists
This is one story that will go down in the history book of vegan activist Tash Peterson. While we should applaud her mission to protect the animals of this world, however her methods of persuasion have caused much grief to her cause and the restaurant owner involved.
For retail businesses, maintaining a positive revenue stream can be challenging. However, being able to utilise a dedicated software to help boost revenue would be a welcome option for many.

In conclusion, running an in-person business is not for the faint hearted. But hey, at least we get to interact with real people and not just stare at a computer screen all day. And with software services like Okuru, getting extra revenue with very little investment in time and money will hopefully give the business owner the help that is always needed.
